Product Description

This traditional Thangka is hand-painted on cotton canvas using the black background, where intricate 24K gold line work shines brilliantly. At the center sits Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha and the founder of Buddhism, depicted with a luminous golden complexion. He is seated in the lotus posture on a detailed golden lotus throne with his calm and compassionate gaze reflecting the profound peace of complete enlightenment.

His right hand is extended downward in the Earth Witness gesture, touching the ground to call upon the earth to witness his victory over the illusions of Mara and his attainment of truth. His left hand rests in his lap in the meditative gesture, holding a sacred alms bowl that symbolizes the path of renunciation. The central figure is framed by a golden halo and an circular aureole, while the surrounding space is filled with swirling golden clouds and delicate floral vines.

This Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka is a powerful symbol of  spiritual triumph, representing the historical moment of awakening and the liberation from the cycle of suffering. It serves as an essential focal point for meditation, inspiring practitioners to follow the "Middle Way" and cultivate inner clarity. Beyond its stunning artistry, the presence of this sacred painting radiates an aura of protection and stability, creating an environment of spiritual focus that guides the practitioner toward their own path of enlightenment. The palette of this Thangka comes from natural mineral pigments, enhancing the intricacy of patterns, figures, and sacred symbols with exceptional vibrancy.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.

Note: Some products may not be available immediately. We recommend consulting with our customer service team before making a purchase to confirm availability and details.

In modern spaces, thangkas bring together tradition and contemporary design.
