Product Description

The White Tara Mandala thangka is created on a standard black cotton canvas using traditional hand-painting techniques. The colour palette centres on a striking contrast between the deep black background and radiant golden hues, creating a serene yet spiritually uplifting atmosphere that invites contemplation.

At the heart of the artwork stands the White Tara deity, embodying longevity and healing, depicted in a graceful seated pose with legs crossed in a meditative stance, her hands forming the gesture of granting wishes and protection. White Tara is surrounded by concentric rings of Tibetan phrases "Om Mane Padme Hum," a repeating mantra that represents a continuous prayer of compassion and wisdom, cleansing the mind and body from negativity and guiding the practitioner to enlightenment with each recitation.

Rooted in Tibetan Buddhist culture, this thangka serves as a meditative tool, used in rituals to invoke White Tara’s blessings, embodying the profound teachings of compassion and spiritual growth within the Vajrayana tradition.

The colors used in the thangka painting are sourced from minerals like lapis lazuli for blue, cinnabar for red, and malachite for green. These minerals are ground into fine powders and mixed with animal glue to form a vibrant medium.

CONSECRATION OF PRODUCT

For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.

Thangka in Modern Spaces

In modern spaces, thangkas bring together tradition and contemporary design. Once used mainly in temples, these sacred artworks now enhance homes, offices, and galleries with their vibrant colors and deep symbolism. They create harmony, inspire reflection, and serve as meaningful focal points in today’s interiors.
