Shakyamuni Buddha: The Historical Buddha and Founder of Buddhism
This Jowo Rinpoche Shakyamuni Buddha statue was handcrafted by skilled craftsmen working with Lunzi Art. This statue is made of refined copper and fully plated with 24k real gold using the traditional lost wax method. The statue is beautifully accented with shimmering semi-precious stones, reflects the deep spiritual symbolism.
The statue sits on a double lotus pedestal in a meditative posture, representing spiritual purity and awakening. In the Bhumisparsha mudra, his right hand is extended downward, while in the Dhyana mudra, the left hand is placed on his knees holding an alms bowl (patra) filled with nectar, representing purity and detachment. Together, these postures signify the moment of the Buddha’s enlightenment.
The expression on the Buddha's face is calm and introverted, with his eyes downcast and a subtle and serene smile. Every delicate detail from the serene facial features to the finely crafted robes. When dressed, Jowo Shakyamuni is presented with a magnificent jewelled crowns, necklaces, and ornaments, representing high veneration, wealth, and enlightenment.
