Product Description

Painted on cotton canvas using traditional Tibetan methods, this Thangka features actual 24K gold along with different contrasting colors of blue, green, red, white and grey. These vibrant colors draw the viewer into a deeper connection with divine teachings. At the center is Medicine Buddha, Master of Medicine, seated in a lotus position. The right-hand rests in the earth-touching gesture, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called the earth to witness his victory over Mara, representing stability, and the overcoming of obstacles. The left hand is positioned at chest level, holding a bowl filled with medicinal herbs in the gesture of granting, signifying compassionate offering of healing and wisdom.

The background features a serene and symbolic landscape which depicts a vast, earthy terrain with gentle hills and flowing streams, representing stability and the flow of life. The sky above is adorned with clouds in soft gray and green hues, symbolizing the transiency of the material world and the presence of divine realms. The lush green foliage and blooming lotuses signifies purity and spiritual growth.

This thangka holds deep spiritual significance as it represents the healing energy, compassion, and wisdom of the Medicine Buddha, who is revered for alleviating suffering and restoring balance. It serves as a visual reminder of inner and outer healing, promoting peace and well-being in daily life. When placed in the home, the thangka creates a sacred atmosphere that inspires mindfulness, compassion, and positive energy. Beyond its spiritual purpose, it also enhances home decor with its vibrant colors and intricate artistry.

For requests for consecrations/blessings, we can take the thangka to monasteries or Rinpoches from the nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $50 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration services.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.

Note: Some products may not be available immediately. We recommend consulting with our customer service team before making a purchase to confirm availability and details.

Thangka in Modern Spaces

In modern spaces, thangkas bring together tradition and contemporary design. Once used mainly in temples, these sacred artworks now enhance homes, offices, and galleries with their vibrant colors and deep symbolism. They create harmony, inspire reflection, and serve as meaningful focal points in today’s interiors.
