Product Description

This serene and masterfully composed Thangka depicts Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara), the Bodhisattva of Compassion, revered across the Himalayan Buddhist world as the embodiment of boundless love and mercy. As the compassionate gaze of all Buddhas, Chenrezig listens to the cries of all sentient beings and responds with unwavering kindness, guiding them toward liberation from suffering. His presence radiates peace, healing, and the profound assurance that compassion is the highest path to enlightenment.

At the center, the luminous white form of Chenrezig sits gracefully upon a lotus throne, symbolizing purity beyond the cycle of samsara. He is depicted with four arms, each representing a different aspect of enlightened compassion. His central hands are joined in Anjali Mudra (prayer gesture), holding a wish-fulfilling jewel that signifies his vow to alleviate suffering. His other hands hold a crystal mala (rosary), representing continuous compassionate activity, and a lotus flower, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening.

Surrounding the central figure are sacred deities and protectors that enrich the spiritual narrative of the composition. At the top center sits Amitabha Buddha, the historical Buddha, radiating wisdom and serving as the source of the teachings. On the upper left is White Tara, the goddess of longevity and healing, holding a lotus and embodying maternal compassion followed by Green Tara at the upper right, the swift saviour and protector, known for her active compassion and readiness to aid beings in distress. At the bottom left appears Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, wielding the flaming sword that cuts through ignorance while Vajrapani stands at the bottom right, surrounded by flames symbolizing the destruction of obstacles and negativity.

Rendered in soft, harmonious tones of green, white, and gold, this Thangka achieves a perfect balance between elegance and spiritual depth. The fine detailing in the jewellery, garments, and surrounding environment reflects a high level of craftsmanship, while the symmetrical composition invites meditative focus and inner stillness.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.

Note: Some products may not be available immediately. We recommend consulting with our customer service team before making a purchase to confirm availability and details.

Thangka in Modern Spaces

In modern spaces, thangkas bring together tradition and contemporary design. Once used mainly in temples, these sacred artworks now enhance homes, offices, and galleries with their vibrant colors and deep symbolism. They create harmony, inspire reflection, and serve as meaningful focal points in today’s interiors.
