Product Description

This powerful and highly dynamic Thangka depicts Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) in a wrathful, activity-focused manifestation, symbolizing his role as the subduer of obstacles and protector of the Dharma. Revered as the “Second Buddha,” Guru Rinpoche is the tantric master who transforms negative forces into enlightened energy. In this form, his fierce expression reflects compassion in its most forceful aspect, acting swiftly to remove ignorance and obstruction.

At the center, Guru Rinpoche is shown riding a snow lion, a symbol of fearless power and mastery over all realms. His posture is dynamic, indicating active engagement with the world to protect practitioners and uphold the teachings. In his hand, he holds ritual implements associated with tantric mastery, while his flaming aura conveys unstoppable enlightened activity. The presence of the khatvanga (tantric staff) and flowing scarves further identifies him as Padmasambhava, embodying the union of wisdom and method.

Surrounding the central figure is a dynamic mandala that incorporate the various emanations of Dzambhala. At the upper left appears Red Dzambhala, embodying the ability to attract prosperity, while at the upper right is Green Dzambhala, representing the removal of obstacles; along the lower register, White Dzambhala is depicted riding a dragon, symbolizing purification, while Black Dzambhala, shown in a fierce blue form, represents the wrathful elimination of karmic hindrances. Together they form a complete expression of Dzambhala’s enlightened qualities, unified through purification, and protection within the sacred composition.

The composition is set against a vivid blue sky filled with swirling clouds and framed by lush floral motifs, contrasted by 24k gold highlights that emphasize intensity and transformation. The snow lion and fiery elements reinforce themes of courage and purification. This Guru Rinpoche Thangka is not only a visually commanding work of sacred art but also a potent spiritual support, believed to remove obstacles and empower practitioners on the Vajrayana path with clarity and unwavering strength.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.

In modern spaces, thangkas bring together tradition and contemporary design.
