Product Description

This exquisite Thangka depicts White Tara (Sitatara), the supreme deity of longevity, healing, and peace. Often referred to as the "Mother of all Buddhas," she represents the maternal aspect of compassion, offering protection against illness and the promise of a long, meaningful life. She is a figure of profound stillness and meditative grace, radiating a pure, moon-like light that is believed to dispel the darkness of suffering and bring clarity to the mind of the practitioner.

The sacred composition centers on her classic iconographic form, seated in the full Vajra (lotus) posture upon a magnificent blossom. She is uniquely identified by her seven eyes; including those on her forehead, palms, and the soles of her feet, symbolizing her ability to see all suffering in every corner of the universe with perfect wisdom. Her right hand is held in the Varada Mudra (the gesture of supreme generosity), while her left hand performs the Vitarka Mudra (the gesture of teaching and protection) while holding a blooming white lotus. In this particular rendering, she is surrounded by an intricate border of smaller Tara emanations, each framed in a golden circle, creating a powerful field of collective merit.

Masterfully executed with traditional mineral pigments, the artwork ensures a rich and enduring palette that honours centuries of Himalayan tradition. The piece is further elevated by complex patterns of her celestial garments and the delicate halos of the surrounding figures. This luxurious finish creates a "sacred glow" that makes the Thangka a radiant object of devotion and a high-value collector's item. By blending deep spiritual symbolism with unparalleled artistic brilliance, this White Tara Thangka serves as a timeless masterpiece of serenity and protection.

Natural Colors in Thangka

All the colors used in the thankgas are made from natural minerals. Ground into pigments, they carry the essence of the earth. Unlike artificial colors, these natural tones shine with honesty, adding depth, life, and spiritual meaning to each canvas.
